Aged Look Tutorial.

To use this tutorial, you must have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and its tools.
This is the basic collage I worked with. No fancy brushwork so far. Only blended the 2 pictures together.

Now I added a new layer and filled it with a dark blue (#122B41) and set the layer to exclusion. Next step I duplicated the collage put it above the blue filled layer, set it to softlight and desaturated it.

Now I worked on the lips. Duplicate the lips from our basic collage. Create a new layer above all the others and put the copied lips there. Now I played with the satuartion and brightnes + contrast. Set the layer with the lips to color burn. Erase the parts you donīt need. I also used the blur filter.

Iīm still not satisfied with the lips. Way to bright. Now I duplicated the layer with the lips, desaturated it and set the layer to multiply.

Now the eyes, I copied them from the first layer. Added the eyes to 2 new layers and set them both to screen. As you can see I also added a little moon. The brush is from Scully7491.

Next I added a new layer above all the other and filled it with #122B41, set to multiply.

Now I flattened the whole image, duplicated it and set the duplicated layer to softlight.

As you can see I played some more with her eyes. Used the dodge tool to make them more white and I used the paint daubs filter on the iris. Also duplicated the lips again and set them to soft light. The tear brushes are from Pretty Brush and the splatter is from Jennīs Sanity.

Now I added a new layer, filled it with black and set it to softlight. Also added the text. The brush is from AvH.

In the next step I added the aged look. Create a new layer and fill it with a texture or a color. I used this color #EBE6DC. Now add a layer mask to this layer (make sure your foreground color is black and your background color is white). Now remove the layer filling. Either with a big brush or the rectangular marquee tool. Donīt worry, it will make sense. Go to your brush tool and choose a brush that creates a paperish old look. For my collage I only used brushes from Asunder. Now use the brush in the layer we just created. Thatīs it. :)
