Dark Art Tutorial.

To use this tutorial, you must have a basic knowledge of Photoshop and its tools. Here the 3 pictures I used for this collage:

First I created a new black layer and create the blend of the window picture and Spike. I had to resize the frame to make it fit (170%). That done I desaturated everything, flattend it. Now I duplicated my new "blend" and set it to softlight. I flattend it again and used a smart blur (radius 1,1).

That done I added the frame to the collage. Again I desaturated it, used the smart blur (radius 1,1) and set it to linear light.

Next step was that I wanted to add some depth to the moon. I thought it looked too plain. I used the google search engine for a random moon picture and made a brush out of it. Then I added the brush (color #8E8E8E) to the moon. I made two layers, one is set to luminosity and the other is set to screen. Then I added some birds in front of the moon with a brush from Pretty Brush.

So far so good. :D Now I just randomly added flower brushes to the frame and I added a crack in the upper left corner (color: white) Both brushes are from AvH.

Next I added the spidwerwebs to the corners of the frame. Theyīre also a brush from Pretty Brush. (color: white)

Now the main collage is done but itīs missing some color. Create a new empty layer and fill it with the color #8D9AAB, set to overlay.

See? Much prettier now. Ok, the flowers are still a bit white looking. I added a new layer and added the color #B3BBC8 with a soft round brush over the flowers and the spiderweb in the upper right corner, set the layer this time to color.

You see the difference in the bigger version. Itīs very subtle. Thatīs about it. Only added the lyrics, some lines and the small flowers. Et viola!
